For decades a premier tea plantation in the Sabaragamuwa region, nestled between the Sinharaja rain forest on the south and the Walankande range on the north. The views are spectacular. UTZ certified. It produces a range of tea with coloury liquors in two factories; Endane, built in 1920 and Samawatte, aptly named after Sam A Watt, the English planter responsible for its construction in 1957.

Produce range of gradesOpened as a rubber property at the beginning of the 20th century and tea being introduced within a few years, it produces the rich, coloury tea typical of the region, selling under the “Nilagama” mark; that label itself signifies the precious blue sapphires often mined from the bountiful deposits in the locality.
